As Director Cyber Security, you will report directly to our CTO and be responsible for the strategic direction and operational implementation of our security measures. You will lead the Cyber Security team, which plays a key role in protecting the operation of our digital platforms and proactively ensuring the highest standards in the highly regulated environment of the Stuttgart Digital Group stock exchange. Your Tasks
- IT security strategy: Development and operational implementation of the IT security strategy for Börse Stuttgart Digital, as part of the first line of defense, with a focus on hands-on responsibility for security solutions and processes
- Disciplinary management responsibility: Management and further development of the cyber security team, promotion of a security culture, and close cooperation with specialist departments to ensure the protection of all our services
- Security systems: Implementation and monitoring of security systems and further development of the corresponding solutions to optimally secure the company
- Security processes: Further development of our internal, security-specific processes to continuously improve our standing
- Security projects: Management of security projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., MaRisk, BAIT, DORA)
- Risk analyses: Conducting risk analyses, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing measures to minimize security risks
- Communication with the 2nd line of defense: Communicating and coordinating with the 2nd line of defense (compliance, risk, information security) for risk assessment and control of security standards
- Security concepts: Creation and presentation of security concepts and reporting to internal and external stakeholders at C-level Incident management in the context of cyber security: Responsibility for incident management in the context of cyber security, including the coordination and implementation of immediate measures in the event of security incidents
What You Bring to the Table
- Background: Degree in (business) computer science, IT security, or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience: At least 5 years in IT security, ideally with overall responsibility in a regulated environment—preferably finance or crypto. You know how to secure a company as a whole, not just individual areas.
- Leadership skills: Proven leadership experience in managing IT security teams in a hands-on role within the 1st line of defense
- Technical experience: In-depth knowledge of IT security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC II Type II) and regulatory frameworks such as MaRisk, BAIT, and DORA
- Professional competence: Strong presentation skills, self-confidence, and strong communication skills to convey technical content between management and developers
- Strategic competence: Proactive and strategic mindset to implement both operational security tasks and long-term goals Language skills: Business fluent German and English (at least C1 level in each)
- Can-do attitude: You think analytically, plan strategically, and act operationally. When it matters, you roll up your sleeves, get things done, and don't wait for others to do it for you.
