As a Ruby Backend Engineer (gn), you design and operate server-side applications that are reliable, scalable, and secure. Your focus is on implementing business logic, developing APIs, and integrating and maintaining databases. You regularly work with frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and place great importance on clean, maintainable code and automated testing. In close collaboration with frontend, DevOps, and product teams, you contribute to shaping technical solutions and continuously improving existing systems.

This position allows for remote work, but we greatly value in-person team interaction. Therefore, we encourage regular attendance for key team votes, special events, and fostering team spirit.

Your Tasks

Platform & Tool Development: Actively contribute to the development of our trading platform and internal tools.
Technical Design & Implementation: Participate in the technical design and implementation of customer requirements, including aspects of security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with internal customers and relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and propose optimizations for existing processes.

What You Bring to the Table

Web Development & Ruby Stack: Experience in developing web applications using web frameworks and relational databases, preferably with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
Database Expertise (PostgreSQL): Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL databases.
Analytical & Conceptual Skills: Strong analytical and conceptual abilities, combined with a structured, reliable, and self-driven way of working.
Stakeholder Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, tailored to the respective audience.
Language Skills: Very good command of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is a plus.
